TEFILLALIVE (to-feel-alive)

A communal healing experience rooted in the power of songwriting and spirituality.

Program Introduction

In TefillAlive, participants come together to create songs that express their journeys, emotions, and aspirations. Guided by the rich tradition of Tefilla (Hebrew for ‘prayer’) we explore themes of gratitude, forgiveness, resilience, and self-discovery. These themes are universal and highly relevant to anyone on a path of healing and self-growth.

Benefits of TefillAlive for IOP’s:

TefillAlive combines the elements of music therapy, teamwork, and storytelling to offer a truly transformative experience.

· Healing Through Expression: Songwriting opens the door to expressing emotions and experiences in ways words alone often cannot. By creating original music, participants engage with their feelings, moving through challenges and discovering new perspectives.

· A Community of Healing: Group songwriting fosters a sense of belonging and trust, uniting participants as they work together to tell their shared stories and create something meaningful.

· Inspiration from Spiritual Wisdom: Tefilla—with its prayers of reflection, gratitude, and connection—adds layers of depth to the healing process. These ancient texts offer lessons that can inspire new rituals, coping mechanisms, and mindsets that participants can incorporate into daily life.

· Have Fun in a Safe Space – Beyond therapy, these sessions provide a fun, engaging experience where participants can relax, enjoy, and explore their talents. After all, it’s called “playing” music!

How It Works

Each session is designed to flow naturally and is adapted to meet the specific needs of your group. Here’s a look at the process:

  • Setting the Tone: The course leader will start each session by creating a welcoming environment, fostering openness and trust, sharing words and a song.

  • Guided Reflection: Through prompts and group discussions, participants are encouraged to think deeply about their experiences, feelings, and personal narratives.

  • Collaborative Songwriting: As a group, participants will develop lyrics and melodies, learning to express themselves while harmonizing with others.

  • Creating Together: After several sessions, the group will have created a complete song, capturing their shared thoughts, emotions, and experiences in music.
